Ronald James LeBlanc passed away peacefully with family at his side on Thursday, March 5, 2015. He was 69 years old and a lifelong native and resident of Algiers, LA. He was born on April 28, 1945 to the late Edward C. LeBlanc, Sr. and Thelma Richardson LeBlanc. He was a loving and devoted father to Michael J. LeBlanc and Amy LeBlanc Loyacano (Ron K. Loyacano, Jr.) He was the proud Pawpaw of Sherri L. Loyacano, Nicholas K. Loyacano, Noah K. Loyacano and Kurtis M. LeBlanc. He was the brother of Fredrick L. LeBlanc, Betty LeBlanc Pugh, Kenneth M. LeBlanc (Darnell M. LeBlanc), Sharon LeBlanc Andras (Robert J. Andras) and the late Edward C. LeBlanc Jr. To all who know him, he was a great friend and mentor. He will also be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will live in our hearts forever, but we've gained an angel. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Ronnie retired from the Orleans Parish School Board after 31 years and was known by his comrades as "Papa Smurf". During his retired years, he worked for Wal-Mart at the Harvey and Algiers locations where he made many friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy, Harvey, LA on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11am. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 6-10pm and again on Monday morning from 9-11am.
