Ronald J. Petrie, Sr., age 65 entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. Beloved husband of 32 years to Mary H. Petrie. Son of the late Jules Petrie and Sylvia Banks Gannuch. Loving and proud father of Lisa M. Petrie, Ronald J. Petrie, Jr. (Jeanine), Amy C. Petrie, Paul L. Ferrara, III (Rosie) and Jennifer F. Dominique (Shaun). Loving and proud grandfather of Melody, Joshua, Devin, Shawn Petrie, Rachel, Holly, Megan (Bryan), Brittany, Tiffany, Grace, Breanna, Aiden, Shalynn, Shane and Savannah. Great Grandfather of Noah, Alicia, Emily and Chloe. Brother to his twin, Donald Petrie (Cynthia), Albert Petrie (Donna), Louis Gannuch (Angelle) and the late Dennis Petrie (Survived by Kathy). Ronald is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and special friends; former wife, Rita G. Petrie. He proudly served his country with his twin brother, Donald in the U.S. Marine Corp. serving in the Vietnam War. Ronald was a member of Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 12 and retired after 23 years of loyal service with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office as a Civil Department. Ronald was born in New Orleans, LA and resided in Avondale, LA for the past 14 years. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 from 10AM until 1PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1PM. Interment will be in Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
