Ronald Earl "Ronnie" Roberts

Ronald Earl “Ronnie” Roberts entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 9, 2013. Beloved husband of Helen Mallory Roberts for 56 years. Loving father of Robyn R. White of Scott, LA and the late Steven Roberts. Grandfather of Megan McDaniel. Brother of Sylvia R. Minton (Gary) of Fairhope, AL, the late Edward A. Roberts, Jr. and Genevieve R. Guynes. Brother-in-law of Dorothy M. Gray of Baton Rouge, LA and Janet Roberts of Columbus, MS. Lifelong and dear friend of J.E. Knox, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. Son of the late Ella Harper Roberts and Edward A. Roberts, Sr. Age, 79 years. A native of Baton Rouge, LA and a resident of Terrytown, LA since 1962. Mr. Roberts was retired from Entergy/NOPSI where he worked as an Electrical Engineer for many years. He was also retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel after 30 years of service. Ronnie was a faithful member of Metairie Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and as a member of numerous committees. He was also a member of the Military Officer’s Assoc., the Reserve Officers Assoc., IEEE and an avid LSU Fan.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 1:30 PM. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Parlors will be open Tuesday from 11 AM until 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Louisiana Baptist Childrens’ Home, P.O. Box 4196, Monroe, LA, 71211. The family wishes to specially thank Dr. Frank Cruz, Sr. and the staff of River Regions Hospice House for their care and compassion.
