Ronald Elvis "Ronnie" White

Ronald Elvis “Ronnie” White passed away on March 13, 2024 at his home in Terrytown, Louisiana at the age of 89. Ronnie was born on October 23, 1934 in Bogalusa, Louisiana. He is predeceased by his parents, Yancy Elvis White and Mable Lee White, and his brother, D.J. White and sister-in-law, Evelyn White. He is also predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Helen White. Ronnie is survived by his two children, Ronald, Jr., and Laura. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Mattox and brother-in-law, Hugh Mattox, as well as nieces and nephews. Ronnie served in the United States Army for three years, then received his accounting degree at Southeastern Louisiana University. He worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 37 years. He was married to Helen on May 2, 1961 and they had two children, Ronald Jr. on October 19, 1962 and Laura on January 21, 1974. Following his retirement from the IRS, Ronnie worked in various audit consulting jobs, then served as a volunteer advocate for CASA Jefferson for 13 years, advocating for children in foster care. Ronnie survived for nearly 23 years following a heart transplant in 2001. Ronnie was an avid Saints and Pelicans fan. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 1:30pm. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 11:30am until 1:30pm. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
