Rosemary Carlton Arendt passed away on January 5 after a prolonged medical battle at Ochsner Hospital, West Bank Campus, with her husband Paul and son Thomas by her side.
She was born on April 13, 1951, the second daughter of Robert and Margaret (Peggy) Carlton. Her father served in the United States Navy, so Rose and her sisters moved quite frequently. Rosemary graduated from Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, Virginia. She held several positions in retail before marrying.
She is the mother of Hugh Lewis Herrin, Jr, Margaret Herrin, Joseph Andrew Herrin, who died in infancy, and Thomas Connell of the United States Navy. She is survived by her sisters, Kathleen Carlton Johnson (Robert), Theresa Clevenstine (Peter), Elizabeth Hicks (Stormy), and Mary Alice Walters (Robert), as well as grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
Rose was a generous person who loved entertaining and, above all, cooking.
As she requested, she will be interred in the Carlton family plot in Lake View Cemetery in Calumet, Michigan. The family will have a Mass and a memorial service at that time.
The family kindly invites you to share thoughts, fondest memories, and condolences online at www.MotheFunerals.com.
