Rosemary Petrie Marchese, 88, passed away into eternal rest on Sunday, May 26, 2024. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and resident of Luling, LA.
She is survived by her loving husband; Joseph Michael Marchese, Sr., daughters; Toni McNeely (Freddie), Terry Linder (Matt), Laurie Fisher, Susan Boudreaux (David) and son; Joe Marchese, Jr. (Ronnie), grandchildren; Josiah McNeely (Kimberly), Dorian McNeely, Matthew Linder, Michael Linder, Jessica Fisher Baker (Nate), Franchesca Boudreaux Lorio (Jeff), great-grandchildren; Logan McNeely, Mia McNeely, Lily Schaefer, Tate Linder, Gibson Linder and Vivian Lorio.
She was proceded in death by parents; Edwin D. Petrie and Angelina Gaillard Petrie, sister; Betty Cregar, grandsons; Joseph Marchese III, Christopher Linder.
Rosemary graduated from Sacred Heart High School in New Orleans. In 1971, she moved from New Orleans to Luling. Originally, she was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church but became a parishioner and Eucharistic
minister at Holy Family Church which was closer to her home in Mimosa Park. She was employed by American Cyanamid and Holy Family Church. She retired from Holy Family Church in 2001.
Rosemary was a loyal, hardworking person who was committed to her faith, marriage and family. In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing in Grand Isle and Cocodrie. She also spent time and energy focusing on maintaining her fitness. In
her later years, she enjoyed watching old movies on TCM. Regardless of her age or condition, she loved watching the Saints football games. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday, June 3 at 11:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 234 Angus Drive, Luling, LA 70070. A visitation will begin at 9:30 am until Mass time. The committal service will follow at Bayou Gauche Sunset Cemetery, 2671 Highway 306 (Bayou Gauche Road), Des Allemands, LA 70030.
