Roy Gaylon Scott

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, Roy G. Scott passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband to Paulette Scott for 54 years; a great father to Ty Scott (Amanda) and Tonya Martin; grandfather to Christopher Scott, Madelyn Martin, Kristin Martin, and Olivia Scott; son of the late Faye Scott and brother to the late Michael Scott (Rose) and Chrystle White.

Roy was a hard-working, strong-willed man, who loved having his family together.  His love for fishing left us with many great memories and a family legacy of the outdoors and fishing.  He also enjoyed shooting pool with his children and grandchildren. Another favorite pastime was playing cards with “His Lady”, Alberta Tassin, Mother- in-law and Stella Landry, his screaming card partner.

Roy was a brave veteran of the Vietnam War with the 173^rd Airborne Brigade Sky Soldiers. He was the #1 fan of Elvis Presley.  He enjoyed collecting many great treasures and telling stories.

He will be sadly missed by his family and all that knew him.
