Royal J. Champagne, Jr.

Royal J. Champagne, Jr. known by many as “Junior” entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the age of 76.  Former husband of Darlene Champagne.  Son of the late Royal J. Champagne, Sr. and Mathilda Teal Gambino Champagne.  Loving and devoted father of Crystal Champagne Melancon (Michael) and Candi Champagne Scallan (Jeff).  Loving Grandfather of Summer, Macy, Kaleigh, Brady, Addison “Boo Boo” and Caiden.  Beloved brother of Donald Champagne, Ronnie Champagne (Elaine) and the late E.J. Berthelot (the late Brenda).  “Junior” is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and resided in Ama, Louisiana.  He served his country in Vietnam while enlisted in the United States Army.  He loved working on his farm especially with his cattle and bailing hay.  Family and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, River Road, Waggaman, Louisiana on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 9AM until 11AM.  A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church on Thursday at 11AM.  Interment will be in Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, Waggaman, Louisiana.  MOTHE FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family during this difficult time.  Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com.
