Ruben Arevalo Sr. passed away on December 24, 2014. Beloved husband of Florence Segovia Arevalo for 66 years. Son of the late Fidela Perez Arevalo and Mauricio Arevalo. Father of Ruben Arevalo Jr. (Carol), Mary Ann A. McKinney (Bill), Gilbert Arevalo (Della), and the late Joseph and Albert Arevalo. Grandfather of Anthony (Jennifer) and Nicholas (Erica) Arevalo, Robert Aranda (Liz), Gilbert Jr. (Dawn) and Amanda Arevalo, and the late Joseph Aaron Arevalo. Great Grandfather of 6. Brother of Joe and Jesse Arevalo (Rosie), and the late Maria A. Golden and Mauricio Arevalo Jr. (the late Berta). Age 87 years, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas, and a resident of Gretna for the past 43 years. Ruben was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army. He retired after 35 years as a Paleontologist with Shell Oil. He was also an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing. He never knew a stranger, and always sought to help those in need. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 2PM to 9PM and on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 9 AM until 10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 535 Deerfield Rd, Terrytown, LA on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 11:00AM.
