Russell A. Bergeron, Sr. passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 at the age of 93 years. Beloved father of Russell A. Bergeron Jr. (Debby), Perry J. Bergeron (Kim), and Mark A. Bergeron (Ellen). Son of the late Annette and Edmond Bergeron. Brother of Myrtle, Annette, and the late Wilbert, Willard, Gertrude, Elodie, Theresa, Gloria, Clotilde, Edmond, and Alvoid. Grandfather of Russell A. Bergeron, III, Tina Bergeron Sheesley, Angie Bergeron Berkey, Nicole Bergeron, Mindy Hungerford, Kelly Bergeron, Justin T. Austin, Jordan T. Austin, and Kaitlin D. Austin. Also survived by 7 great grandchildren. He was a WWII Veteran having served in the U. S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post 374. He was an avid recreational fisherman, and self proclaimed "Redfish King". He was also an avid LSU fan, gardener, and animal lover. He was a native of Franklin, LA and a resident of Slidell, LA for the past 10 years. Relatives and friends of the family, also members of American Legion Post 374 and employees of Avondale Shipyard are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 11am. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 9am until 11am. Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www.mothefunerals.com .
