Russell J. Ford

Russell J. Ford, a longtime resident of Marrero, LA, passed away on January 18, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Percle Ford. Father of Roy Ford (Shannon), Dorothy Smith (Gerry), Gary Ford (Karen), Melanie Bangs (the late Luther), Patrick Ford (Julie), Gerald Ford (Jean), Curtis Ford (Barbara), Laura Dufrene (Gerald), Marilyn Swear (John) and the late Raymond Ford (Virginia). Brother of Richard Duhon (Jean). Son of the late Louis P. Ford Jr. and Laura Gaudet Duhon. Also survived by many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Russell served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later retired from the Jefferson Parish School Board after 27 years of dedicated service.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11 AM. Interment McDonogh Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 PM to 10 PM, resuming on Friday from 8 AM to 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association ( www.alz.org ).
