Russell J. "Moose" Camardelle, Sr.

Russell J. “Moose” Camardelle, Sr. passed away on June 12, 2015 at the age of 68 years. Beloved husband of the late Valerie Betcke Camardelle and former husband of Shira Allan Camardelle. Father of Russell J. “Rusty” Camardelle, Jr. (wife Jennifer) and Nancy C. LeBlanc. Step-father of Angela A. Authement (Chad) and Jennifer A. Chaisson (Joshua). Grandfather of Eric and Kyle. Step-grandfather of Alexis, Shelby, Alyssa and Joseph. Step-great-grandfather of Nathan. Brother of Rodney Camardelle (Margie). Son of the late Livingston “Lim” and Dolores “Cailou” Terrebonne Camardelle. Also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
Russell was a graduate of West Jefferson High School, Class of 1964. His experience as offensive guard and linebacker on the football team not only earned him the nickname of “Moose”, but ingrained a lifelong passion for sports, especially Saints and L.S.U. He worked for many years as a deputy sheriff with Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office and later retired as security with Avondale Shipyard.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 9 AM to 1:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow.
