Russell Paul Marcel Sr.

Russell Paul Marcel, Sr., born July 31, 1949 and native of New Orleans, LA joined the heavens on April 13, 2014 in his Avondale home. Beloved husband of Peggy Wilt Marcel. Father of Cory Thomas Marcel (daughter-in-law Sharon Robeau Marcel) and the late Russell “Moose” Paul Marcel, Jr. Son of the late Huey Paul Marcel, Sr. and Rosemary Mayfield Goss (Johnny). Son-in-Law to the late Alma Marrero Wilt. Brother of Larry Joseph Marcel, Sr., Janet Marcel Mayeaux (Wayne), Joey Marcel (Donna), Huey Paul Marcel, Sr. (Debbie) and the late Thomas Anthony Marcel (Jean). Grandfather of Madison Hailey Marcel, Kyli Artine Weier, and Chance Aaron Weier. Also survived by loving extended family and friends. We will all miss him greatly. He was a loving man who never turned his back on anyone and was always willing to lend a hand. His passions in life included his family, friends, fishing, and shooting pool. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Catholic Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 8 PM. Interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 PM until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, potted plants are preferred.
