Ruth Bell Partridge passed away on May 31, 2014 after having spent over 60 years with her lifelong love, the late Capt. Charles 'Sonny' Partridge. Her beloved husband had passed away less than three months earlier. Ruth was a devoted mother of two and a doting grandmother of 7. Throughout her life she was a supportive and loving figure in the family; she was the backbone, the center, the rock. Ruth and Sonny played a pivotal role in raising two of their grandchildren while steadfastly being a source of support and love for their others. Ruth made it possible for her husband to work his dream job by taking care of everything else in their lives. For over 20 years she faithfully sent care packages to her daughter who lived overseas knowing that they gave her daughter a little taste of home and her grandchildren the joy of the latest toys and games for their birthdays, Christmas, Easter or 'just because'. These care packages were dubbed 'the boxes' and are legendary in the family. Ruth is survived by a daughter, Cindy Partridge Al-Salamah, a son, Rickey Charles Partridge, 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. They are both greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Lung Association of Louisiana. MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA is in charge of arrangements.
