Ryan J. Colligan was taken suddenly from us and too early in life at his home on the morning of Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the age of 40. The beloved and only son of Barry and Arlene Colligan. Husband to Nicole Richardson and father to Austin Colligan. Brother to Misty Colligan; Uncle to Caleb and Gavin Colligan. Ryan was born on December 21, 1974 and as a young boy he was full of life and mischief! He was a graduate of Port Sulphur High School. He started fishing and hunting at an early age and his passion for that and the outdoors continued through life! Ryan had a kind heart, a gentle spirit and a stranger to no one he met! He had a love for animals at a very early age! He worked for Danos & Curole as an Oilfield Operator and was a Charter Boat Captain on his 7 days off and did so until his back was injured in an automobile accident in mid 2001. Ryan suffered greatly from that accident for the last 13+ years in more ways than one! I’m sure that if he could have had three wishes, it would have been to be pain free for more than a day or two at a time, to be able to sleep more than 2 to 4 hours at a time and for more personal happiness in his life near the end. Then again, it was just as likely that he would have given those wishes away! Ryan is at peace now, free of any and all pain he suffered in this life and is now in the comfort and warmth of God’s arms along with other family members and friends who have gone ahead of him. I have no doubt that we will see and be with Ryan again one day! Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 9AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1225 Whitney Avenue, Gretna, LA.
