Sandrine Hijuelos

Sandrine Hijuelos left this world on May 2nd, 2024 at the age of 57. She is survived by the love of her life, Leonard Hijuelos III, her daughter, Sabrina Eckert, her son-in-law, William Harry Eckert Jr., her two granddaughters, Eveline and Aurora Eckert, her siblings, Cathy Roué, Reine Roué, and Patrick Roué, her nieces and nephews, Florian Savino, Jauffrey Savino, Emmerick Porzondek, Isabelle Porzondek, and Adam Roué. She is also survived by numerous devoted family members and friends who all miss her dearly. She was preceded in death and now resides in paradise with her late loving mother, Simone Roué, her father, Franco Fanelli, her adoring mother-in-law and father-in-law, Martha and Leonard Hijuelos, her kind sister-in-law Sarita Roué, and many more loved ones who have passed on. Sandrine ran a family-owned painting contracting company alongside her loving husband Lenny. For several years, the pair worked together as a perfect team, both in business and in life. An exemplary model of love and light - to know Sandrine was to love her. If you had to choose a few words to exemplify her personality, they would be vibrancy, dedication, strength, and love.  Sandrine always had a glow about her, and a smile that would light up a room. She was truly the epitome of “live, laugh, love”. She never seemed to meet a stranger. Her laugh was warm, kind and welcoming. She put others before herself every day, even when she had her own battle to fight. Music, nature, adventure and art always had an allure to her. She loved her family fiercely, and was a warrior until the very end. Sandrine left this world too soon, but better than she found it.
