Sandu "Sis" Arnona

Sandu “Sis” DeCorte Arnona passed away on May 9, 2011 at the age of 97. Beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Arnona. Mother of Sandra Arnona Callender and her husband, John Wayne Callender. Grandmother of John Benjamin Callender. Survived by 1 brother, John C. DeCorte. Preceded in death by her sisters, Marguerite, Lena, Conjetta Nancy and Rose; and her brothers, Joseph, Jacob, Basil and Paul. Sis was loved by all who met her. She was a great listener and confidant to many, who will miss her. She was a resident of Gretna, LA for many years and a 30 year employee of Maison Blanche, where she was known to everyone. The family would like to thank her caregivers at home as well as Ochsner Home Health, St. Luke’s Medical Center and St. Margaret’s Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice in Sis’s honor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 9AM until 11AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the funeral home on Thursday at 11AM. Interment will be in St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Algiers, LA.
