Saxon Richard Becnel Sr.

Saxon Richard Becnel, Sr. passed away Monday, May 27, 2013 at the age of 80 years old. Beloved husband of Carole Robertson Becnel. Loving father of Donna Mandina (David), Saxon “Ricky” Becnel, Jr. (Stephanie), David Becnel (Lisa) and Matthew Becnel (Susan). Grandfather of Joel and Amber Mandina, Saxon III “Ricky” (Monique), Ryan, Reid, Reba, Dylan, Austin, Jacqueline, Julia, Jenna, and Matthew Becnel Jr. Brother of Shirley Navarre, Robert, Thomas, Harold, Benjamin, and the late Arthur, Jr., Johnny, Hewitt and Carol Becnel. Son of the late Gladys Brandt Becnel and Arthur Becnel, Sr. A native and lifelong resident of Becnelville, Plaquemines Parish, LA. He was the founder of Saxon Becnel and Sons Citrus Nursery. Also operated the motor grader for Plaquemines Parish for 25 years. For 14 years he worked in the oil field, and became a driller at the young age of 22. He will be greatly missed by all as he truly devoted his entire life to his family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Hwy 23, Belle Chasse, LA on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 9 AM until 11:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM Interment, Becnel-Bayhi Cemetery, LaReussite (Alliance), LA.
