Senmattee Leila Figueira

Senmattee Figueira(Leila) passed away on Tuesday May 1, 2012 at the age of 60. Originally from Georgetown, Guyana she lived in Marrero, LA for the last 31 years. Loving wife of Compton and devoted mother to Angela (Jhonny), Nazeema (David), Ishmael (Nicole), Natasha, and Dominic. Beloved grandmother of Jonathan, Jessica, Jasmine, Sean, Amanda, and Alexis. After her brief battle with pancreatic cancer, she went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ. She passed away surrounded by her loving family. Leila was courageous and valiant to the end, not once complaining about her illness. She always had a positive attitude and never ceased praising God. Leila touched everyone she came into contact with and always had a kind word for everyone. Leila’s favorite color was red and she requested that friends and family wear that color to the celebration of her life.

Friends and family are invited to rejoice in the celebration of her life at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 9-11AM. Pastor Torrin Sanders of Sixth Baptist Church will be performing the service at 11AM at Mothe Funeral Home with the internment to follow immediately at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna, LA.
