Seaman Shawn Marshall Debenport, U.S.C.G.

Seaman Shawn Marshall Debenport, U.S.C.G., passed away on March 5, 2013 at the age of 22 years. Beloved son of Karrie Kelly Debenport and Walter Debenport. Brother of Shannon Debenport and Kelly Jeanne Debenport. Brother-in-law of Karissa Debenport. Grandson of Billie Jeanne Kelly, the late Richard Marshall Kelly and Mary Parker Debenport. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Nori Janelle Tirona, his canine companions, Antonio, Princey and Macy along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and shipmates.
Shawn attended Christ the King Elementary School and De La Salle High School before joining the U.S. Coast Guard in 2009. He was a Life Scout with Boy Scout Troop and Venture Crew 378 and completed his Eagle Scout project to benefit the S.P.C.A. Shawn was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church where he served his Church community as an acolyte. He was also a tough competitor with the New Orleans Rugby Football Club and the Terrytown Country Club Swim Team.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 3245 Manhattan Boulevard in Harvey, LA on Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 11 AM to 1 PM. Services will follow. Interment with full Military Honors will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park.
