Shelly Marie Elizabeth Dupre Beck

She made a mean pot of “the kitchen and sink” gumbo and enjoyed watching the Leah Chase cooking show to refine her cooking skills and dishes. Her favorite holiday movie at Christmas time was “Die Hard”.  She never backed down from an intense game of bid whist at the card table with her brothers and sisters.

In her working years, she was a dedicated executive assistant and office manager at the Jewish Community Center, Blessed Trinity Church, and the City of New Orleans Mayor’s Office, to name a few.

Shelly was the loving wife of Immanuel Beck Sr. and proud mother of Dr. Stacie Schmidt Quintero and Immanuel “Manny” Beck Jr. She was the delighted “Ollie” to her grandchildren Sofia and Samuel “Sami” Quintero.  Mother-in-law to Dr. David Quintero and future son-in-law Beau Autin.

Daughter of the late Antoine Dupre II and the late Leverne Boutte Dupre. Devoted sister to the late Antoine “Fuzzy” Dupre III (Carol), Marcia Bradburn (Joe), and the late Dr. John Dupre (Yadira). Sister-in-law to Ione Bertrand (the late Armand), Bernard “Bobby” Rigaud (Barbara), Iris Beck, Matthew Beck Jr. (Cheryl), Ingrid Watkins (Kevin). Aunt to the late Antoine “Tony” Dupre IV, Dennis Dupre, Mariah Wallace, Brad Bradburn, Archie Bradburn, Bridget Bradburn, and Dr. Joya Dupre. Beloved cousin of Diane Bordenave, Dalton Boutte Jr., Debra Bullard, Cherrie Guilfo, Kathy and Clarence Hebert, Sheila McCluster, Florence Starks, and many more. She leaves behind a host of family and friends whom she held dear. Her loved ones will remember Shelly as a generous, wonderful, and caring person and will miss her insightful, at times unprompted, but always helpful advice.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Visitation at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church, 400 Verret Street, Algiers, Louisiana on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 10AM until 11AM.  A Memorial Mass will be held at the Church on Saturday at 11AM.  A private interment will be held at a later date.  MOTHE FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family during this difficult time.  Family and friends may offer condolences at mothefunerals.com.
