Shirley Schmidt Babin

Shirley Schmidt Babin, age 83 years, passed away on November 15, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles R. Babin, Sr. for 62 years. She was the loving mother of David W. Babin, Suzanne B. Lorio (Harry J.) and the late Charles R. Babin, Jr. She was the loving grandmother of Bradley C. Lorio and Samantha M. Lorio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leona Camos and Emile Schmidt and her stepparents, Henry Camos and Rosie Schmidt. She has a stepsister, Betty Dupre. Also survived by a close friend of the family, Marvin J. Lowe and numerous nieces and nephews. She was born in New Orleans, LA but lived most of her life in Gretna, LA.
She was a homemaker most of her life. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by family and friends. The family would like to express gratitude to the Canon Hospice Group and the staff of Our Lady of Wisdom Nursing Home.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 9 AM to 11 AM.
