Shirley Lassere Buelna

Shirley Lassere Buelna entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late John E. Buelna. Daughter of the late Ellis and Verna Breaux Lassere. Devoted and loving mother of Ann Pugh Funck (the late John, Jr.). Loving grandmother of Harold Pugh, Jr. (Jennifer), Randi P. Fox (Gary) and Michael Pugh (Nikki). Great grandmother of Amanda McIlwain (James), Michaela Pugh and Jonathan Fox. Great Great Grandmother of Temperance McIlwain and 1 expectant great great grandchild. Sister of Lloyd “Mert” Lassere (Beverly) and the late Joycelyn Vidros (the late Alton). Shirley is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong resident of Algiers. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church SAGES; a vibrant member of Westside Golden Agers, AARP #6397 Algiers Point and a member of the Third Order of Mary. She was loved by many and was very active in Algiers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of Wisdom Health Care Center, 5600 General DeGaulle Drive, Algiers, LA on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 3:30PM until 6PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Wisdom Chapel on Wednesday at 6PM. Interment will be held at a later date.
