Shirley Ann Chauvin Sumner entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the age of 73. Beloved fiance’ of the late Thomas E. Blanchard. Beloved daughter of the late Cleveland and Elnora Chauvin. Loving and devoted mother of Perry Lewis Sumner (Wife Penny), Penny Sumner Richoux (Husband Kevin) and Paul Anthony Sumner (Wife Kelly). Grandmother of Crystal, Dennis Jr., Perry Jr., Lauren and Krystal. Great grandmother of Madison, Victoria, Tristan, AJ, Aubrey and Emma. Sister of Ronald Chauvin (Wife Rose), Brenda Chauvin Mullin (Husband Gary), Barbara Chauvin Powers (Husband Jay), Ethel Chauvin Willis (Husband, the late Nick), Ordwayne Chauvin (Wife Carol), Lenora Chauvin Wyman (Husband Joseph) and Terry Chauvin ( Wife Sandra) and Larry “Ory” Chauvin. Shirley is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was a longtime resident of Gretna, LA and retired from Gretna City Hall. Relatives and friends of the famiyl are invited to attend a visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd , Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 8:30AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
