Simone Marie Scanio

Simone Marie Scanio passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday March 6, 2024 at the age of 72.  She is proceeded in death by her loving parents Pascal “Pat” Scanio Sr, Dorothy “Dot” Young Scanio and her brother Pascal “Pat” Scanio Jr.  She is survived by her adoring children Nicole S. Arnold (Melvin), Tanya S. Cook (Chris) and Timothy Scanio (Jordan).  Proud Grammy of Jordan Arnold (Brittany), Jenna Arnold, Dylan Cook, Zachary Cook, Gavin Scanio and Skyler Scanio.  Great-Grammy to Jayden Arnold and Eli Arnold. Sister in law of Susan S. Scanio.  Aunt of Pascal (Cal) Scanio III.  Sisters(cousins)  Jane Taravella, Karen Dauzat, Cheryl Pierron and Patricia Smith.  Also survived by many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.   

Simone retired from Jefferson Parish School Board after 25 years where she worked as an account clerk, teacher assistant, and Child Care Director.  Currently she was a secretary at St. Anthony School in Gretna.  Ms. Simone’s radiant personality and beautiful smile will be truly missed by all the lives she touched.  The family would like to thank, Sophia Landry and longtime friend Mary Cambre for always being there when needed to care for her.   Special thanks to the Faculty and Staff of St. Anthony School for the meal train and generous donations to the family during this difficult time.

Please join us in the celebration of her life and Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Gretna, LA on Monday March 11, 2024 at 1:30 PM.  Visitation will be held from 10AM until 1:30PM.  Interment to follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
