Sophie Chauvin Kerwin

Sophie Chauvin Kerwin entered into eternal rest on May 16, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Harold Kerwin, Sr. Mother of Diane Foster Hunter, Robert E. Case, Jr., Gerald G. Case, and Cynthia C. Mayer (Paul). Step-mother of Mary Bolton, late Harold Kerwin Jr, Richard Kerwin, late Dennis Kerwin, and Melissa Blauvelt. Grandmother of Dax C. Foster (Jenna), Erica Allison (Tommy), Crystal Owens (Ashley), Case Mayer, Rece Mayer, and the late Natasha Case. Great-grandmother of Cooper, Scarlett, Sophie, Logan, Briella, Dustin, Wyatt, Nolan, Nate, and step-great-grandmother of Ashton and Dylan. Daughter of the late Joseph Chauvin and Armentine Candies Chauvin. Sister of the late Matilda Babin, Walter Chauvin, Duke Chauvin, Laura Cusimano, and Thelma McGiddigan. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Age 99 years, a native of Houma, LA and resident of New Orleans, Irish Channel, Waggaman, Terrytown, LA and Ocean Springs, MS. Sophie was a nurse’s aid at Hotel Diu and a homemaker for many years. She was a fun loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time and socializing with her family and friends. Special thanks to the Staff of Lighthouse Assisted Living Facility and Enhabit Hospice for taking such wonderful care of her. 

Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 11 AM.
