Stephen Patrick Pusateri

Stephen Patrick Pusateri age 26, born August 5, 1987, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 3, 2014. Stephen was born and raised in Gretna, Louisiana. He was a 2005 graduate of Archbishop Shaw High School and graduated from the University of New Orleans with a B.A. in History in 2012. Stephen aspired to teach the next generation his love of history. To anyone fortunate enough to know him, he was a gentle giant with a generous heart and to his family he was the go-to guy, the rock. Stephen had a way of listening to others with little to say. But what he did contribute, his words were always heartfelt and sincere. Stephen’s family and friends always came first. Even when he worked 14-16 hour days, he still managed to find the time to help a friend in need.
Stephen is the 3rd son of this family who has left the earth and gone home. He leaves behind his grieving parents; Father, Mark Stephen Pusateri, Mother, Leslie Johnson Dubroc and Stepfather, Edward Kirby Dubroc. He was a stepson to Porter Allen Strain and Stephanie Ruiz. Grandparents; Shirley Howard Pusateri, Robert Wesley Johnson, Sr. and Mickey Johnson. He was an inspiration, role model and beloved big brother to Joseph Guy Pusateri, Wesley Timothy Strain, Raquel Allison Dubroc and Kourtnie Brown. He will forever be remembered by his Aunts Cindy Johnson Gwin, Donna Johnson Carnes, Robin Johnson, Lauren Johnson Curtis, Pam Pusateri Massey, Cindy Pusateri Ally, Jerri Lynn Pusateri McGehee, Donna Pusateri and Uncles David Anthony Pusateri and Robert Wesley Johnson, Jr. He was an amazing mentor to a large host of cousins who will miss him dearly. He was a treasured friend to many. Stephen was preceded in death by his brothers, Mark Stephen Pusateri, Jr. and Anthony Gerard Pusateri, Grandfather, John Gerard Pusateri, Grandmother, Carol Wilkinson Evans, and Uncles, Terrell Guy Pusateri and John Patrick Pusateri. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Crossroads Church, 308 Avenue J, Belle Chasse, LA (Lions Club Building), on Saturday, March 8, 2014 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Services to follow.
