Steven Earl Brister

Steven Earl Brister entered into eternal rest on September 19, 2023. Beloved father of Kevin Brister (Sophia). Grandfather of Luna Brister and Nova Brister. Son of the late Shelby Brister and Vendelina Vela Brister. Brother of Marian B. Martinez (Berto) and Melinda B. Boudreaux (Andy). Age 65 years and a lifelong resident of Buras, LA., he spent his career working for and eventually owning Vela's Garage, a wrecker service and maritime rental business. Steven was a true outdoorsman with an adventurous soul. He hunted, fished, scuba dived, skied, and had a pilot’s license. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a big heart. He will be deeply missed by all. Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the Chapel of MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy, Harvey, LA on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11 AM. Interment Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Belle Chasse, LA. Visitation will be held from 9 AM until service time.
