Steve’s extended family included many nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to name. He was like a second father to Amanda Glynn Boyd, Sarah Glynn Snee and Adam J. Hickey. Steve and Carol took everyone into their home as family. His love of family and friends was well known. His wisdom and guidance as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend will be deeply missed. Steve was most proud of his family. His wife Carol was the woman he would always love, and his partner for life. They were married for 43 years. Daughters Sherri and Dodie were his proudest achievement. His grandson Alexander (Alex) was his greatest joy. Steve worked hard and long to take care of his family. He was self-employed in the auto mechanic industry for over 40 years. He owned and managed gas stations such as "Rock’s Phillips 66" and "Steve's Auto Care". Steve had numerous interest and hobbies and was passionate about all of them. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved NASCAR and morning breakfast with friends. He was very involved with the Krewe of Choctaw. For many years he served as Vice President of the club and made lifelong friends from his Choctaw family. For more than 20 years he coached athletic teams for the New Orleans Recreational Development Foundation at Bodenger and at Lakeshore. For more than 15 years he coached teams on which his daughters were athletes. Services will be held at Mothe’s Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, in Harvey followed by interment at Westlawn Cemetery . We thank our family, friends, caregivers, and health care professionals for all their support and love. The family welcomes everyone to a reception in Steve’s honor at the Walker home following interment.
