Susan Nebel Nielsen

Susan “Susie” Nebel Nielsen passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 77 on November4, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving husband of 55 years, Leonard “Lenny” Lawrence Nielsen. Susan graduated from Sacred Heart of Jesus high School in 1963, then attended Charity School of Nursing where she graduated with a nursing degree in 1966. She worked as an RN AT Jo Ellen Smith, Meadowcrest and Ochsner hospitals for 45 years. Susie was preceded in death by her father, Robert Mark Nebel, and her mother, Will Ell Ligon, her two sisters Will Ell Todd and Mary Ellen Coleman. Susie is survived by her two sons, Mark Edward Nielsen and Paul Christopher Nielsen (Irene), along with two grandchildren, Celeste and Shelby, and her nieces Kathy Todd Monjure (David), Will Ell Todd Childress (Mark), Eileen Coleman Ellis (Patrick).
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 11AM in the Chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, in Harvey.
