Sylvia Antoinette Templet Reed of Holly Pond, AL formerly of Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. A rosary will be said on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; with a memorial mass on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Belle Chasse, Louisiana at 11a.m.; with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Mrs. Reed volunteered for many years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School; serving as the annual fair chairman. She also volunteered many years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in the altar society, rosary society and the church choir. She was a Knights of Columbus auxiliary member; a member of the Marian Movement of Priests Cenacle group and also a Third Order Carmelite. She had a special devotion to the Knights of the Holy Eucharist at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville and was a devout catholic.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony Templet, Sr. and Bee Sanchez Templet; a sister, Shirley Savoie and brothers, Anthony Templet Jr., William Morris, Leroy Templet Sr. and Kenneth Templet.
She is survived by five daughters, Cindy Reed, Patricia Reed, Kathy Reed (Brian) McNamara, Maggie Reed (Chuck) Malley and Sylvia Reed (Anthony) Barrois; grandchildren, Angelic (Brent) Werlein, Skyler Malley and Madison Malley; great grandchildren, Devin and Lucius Werlein; sisters, Gayle Menter, Dolores Mandina and Gloria Marshall and her former husband, Patrick J. Reed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that masses be said for Mrs. Reed or donations be made to the Knights of the Holy Eucharist at 3222 County Road 548, Hanceville, AL 35077.
