Sylvia Navero Schieffler

On Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 5:35 PM at her home with her family by her side, Sylvia Navero Schieffler, 88 years of age, ascended into the arms of Our Heavenly Father. Born November 26, 1924, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Harvey for the past 71 years. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Joseph Schieffler Sr., oldest son, Joseph Schieffler Jr., her parents Jessica Perrin Navero and Claudie Navero Sr. and her youngest sister, Jean Navero. She is survived by her brother, Claude Navarro Jr. (Diana). She is also survived by her loving children, Pat McDowell (late Louis) and Dennis G. Schieffler Sr. (Stephanie). Sylvia had 6 grandchildren, Denise McDowell, Wendy Daws (Tiger), Louis D. McDowell, Dennis G. Schieffler Jr., Jason P. Schieffler (Melody) and Stacie Celino (Jason); 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sylvia was the kindest person one could ever meet. Many a good time was spent in her kitchen laughing until we couldn’t laugh no more. Special thanks must go to Denise McDowell who took good care of her for years. Another special thank you is extended to Desirae and Emma who helped tremendously with Sylvia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 9 AM to 1:30 PM.
