Thais Sutherland Favrot

Thais Sutherland Favrot entered into Eternal Rest on May 14, 2014 at the age of 74 years. Wife of the late Charles Moise Favrot, Sr. Daughter of the late Frances Tullier Sutherland and Stanley Louis Sutherland, Sr. Beloved mother of Fran Landry (Rody) and Charles “Chuck” Favrot (Stephany). Grandmother of two precious grandchildren, Charles “Charlie” Favrot and Shae Michelle Favrot. Sister of Pat Sutherland (Bebe), Suzanne Ochello (Thom), Eddie Sutherland and the late Stanley Sutherland (Barbara). Godmother of Celeste Sisung, Monique Massi, Peter Ochello and Artie Sutherland. Survived by her Godmother, Eunice Simonson, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Thais was a native of New Orleans and resident of Belle Chasse, LA for 63 years. She was a devout member of Gretna United Methodist Church. In her childhood, she was Queen of the Kiddie Social Club in Algiers. She reigned as Princess Choctaw 1958 and was a recipient of the Krewe of Choctaw Lifetime Achievement Award. She was also a past member of the Belle Chasse Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Gretna United Methodist Church, 1309 Whitney Avenue in Gretna on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 9 AM to 11 AM. Services will follow.
