Thelma "Alice" Clifton Gross Zeringue

Thelma “Alice” Clifton Gross Zeringue peacefully passed away with her two daughters by her side on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Born in Donaldsonville, LA and a long time resident of Terrytown, LA. She was the daughter of the late Sidney J. “Buck” Clifton, Sr. and Thelma Petit Clifton of Donaldsonville, LA. Sister of the late Sidney J. “Billy” Clifton, Jr., Clarence “Lindy” Clifton and Dorothy Clifton. Mother of Donald Gross, Jr., Donna Gross Cheramie (Guy), and Elizabeth “Beth” Gross Fournier Plaisance (Norris). Grandmother of Dawn Gross Wedge (Rob), Donald Gross, III (Vickie), Douglas Gross (Brittney) and Duane Gross, Brian Cheramie (Nancy) and Alicia Fournier Falcon (Breck). Great-grandmother of ten. Great-great-grandmother of three.
She was employed with Louisiana Power & Light Co. from 1957 until she retired in 1986. She was an active member in the Gretna United Methodist Church. She also was the recipient of the Paul Harris Sellow of the Westbank Rotary Club.
Relatives and friends of the family also past employees of Louisiana Power & Light Co., employees of Entergy and members of the Gretna United Methodist Church are invited to attend funeral services in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Inc. 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Susan G.
