Thomas M. Stenger, Jr.

January 24, 1943 — October 12, 2016

Thomas M. Stenger Jr. passed away peacefully on October 12, 2016 at the age of 73 years. Beloved husband of Susan Willis Stenger. Father of Bryan T. Stenger and the late Michael E. Leach. Grandfather of Lacey Singleton and her husband Fredrich and David Stenger and his wife Xenia. Great-grandfather of Nevaeh, Fredrich Jr. and Athalia. Brother of Raymon Stenger and his wife Evelyn and Cindy Hindman and her husband, the late Sean. Son of the late Thomas M. Stenger and Dorita Marlbrough Stenger. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Thomas served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Firefighter for the New Orleans Fire Department, retiring after 28 years of dedicated service. He later earned his A.A.S. in Fire Suppression from Delgado College in New Orleans. Thomas loved travelling with his beloved Susan. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved Mardi Gras as a member of Endymion for 25 years. Along with fellow firefighters, he was an owner in an antiques moving company. His love and dedication for his family and his community was the hallmark of Thomas’ life. While he will be sadly missed, his life will be celebrated.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service.
