Tommy Wilson McKinney

Tommy Wilson McKinney, born in Dixie, LA on October 13, 1944, died at Oschner Hospital on Friday, January 20, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends. Beloved son of the late Thelma & W.L. McKinney and survived by his sisters Thelma Jean Boughton (Jerry) and Barbara Kelly (Billy); loving wife of 25 years, Rose Nocito McKinney: son, Tommy W. McKinney, Jr. (Kaley); daughters, Jennifer McKinney (Dennis), Sharon Purnell (Joey); stepchildren, Kelly McClanahan Yeager (Bubby), Chris McClanahan (Leslie). Also, his beloved grandchildren, Tyler and Catie Purnell, Tailyn, Conner and Megan McKinney, Allie Doucet, Justin and Molly O’Rourke, Bubby and Hannah Yeager, Olivia & Eleanor McClanahan. Tom graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana with a degree in accounting. He was CFO for SEMCO, Inc. and Power Marine Investments. He served as Treasurer of Algiers United Methodist Church for many years. He served on the Louisiana State Mineral board in two capacities, as a member and as Chairman of the Board. Tom was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Algiers United Methodist Church, 637 Opelousas Street (corner Vallette Street) in Algiers on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 9 AM until 11 AM. Memorial Services will follow. Interment will take place at Westlawn Memorial Park.
