Ulysse “Dee Dee” Pierre Broussard, age 84 entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Beloved husband of 8 years to Barbara Lepine Broussard by second marriage and Rosalie Mary Broussard of 50 years by first marriage. Son of the late Marcel Broussard and Marie Hanks Broussard. Father of Marie Matherne (the late Alvin) and Sandra Abadie (Thomas, Jr.). Step Father of David Delaune (Alice), Donna Ponson (Richard) and Penny Holden (Kevin). Grandfather of Jeffrey (Margaret), Alvin (Dawn), Wade (Nicole), Mysti, Beth, Paxton, Shane (Stephanie), Justin, Shannon (Mike), Mindy (Paul), Colby (Ray) and Jaynell. Survived by a host of great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Brother of Theresa Broussard and the late Zina Rose, Mercedes Abshire, Susie Vidrine, Emile Broussard, Lester Broussard, Antoine “Leslie” Broussard, Marcelene Babineaux, Euclide Broussard, Avery Broussard and Joseph Broussard. Ulysse was born in Carencro, LA, was a lifelong resident of the Westbank and currently resided in Kentwood, LA. He is retired from Jefferson Parish Roads and Bridges after 23 years of service. He was an inductee in the Westbank Music Hall of Fame as a professional drummer. The family would like to thank the Staff and Doctors of Richard Murphy Hospice House in Hammond for their love and care. A visitation will be held at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Monday, August 25, 2014 from 6PM until 10PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 8AM until 9:30AM. A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7th Street, Marrero, LA on Tuesday at 10AM. Interment will be in Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
