Vera Guidry Cassagne

Vera Guidry Cassagne passed away on February 24, 2013, at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife of the late Gabriel J. Cassagne, Sr. Mother of Gail Ann Cassagne, Gabriel J. Cassagne, Jr. (wife, Susan), Catherine C. Miller, Carol C. Theriot (husband, Jon) and Vance Paul Cassagne. Grandmother of Elizabeth, Juliette, Andre, Richard Cassagne (wife, Sarah), Andy Gann and Lisa T. Santiago (husband Andres). Great grandmother of Isabella Santiago. Daughter of the late Lovancy and Mercedes Larose Guidry.
She was a graduate of LSU, received her B.S. in Education and later retired from Jefferson Parish Public Schools, teaching the students of the former Westwego Elementary School (Myrtle C. Thibodeaux Elementary School) and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Kappa Kappa Iota and the Harvey Golden Agers Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, from 5 PM to 8:30 PM, resuming on Thursday from 8 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Westwego.
