Vernice Peltie Legendre

Vernice Peltier Legendre, age 99 years, a native of Chackbay, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 6:45 PM. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley L. Rodrigue, son, Percy Legendre, Jr. and wife Elaine of Vacherie, LA; daughter, Jane Wilde, sons, LeRoy Legendre and Stephen Legendre and wife Maureen of Metairie, LA; and son Ragus Legendre and wife Rita of Marrero, LA; 28 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Joseph Peltier and Angelique Bergeron Peltier; husband Percy Joseph Legendre, Sr.; one son, Floyd Legendre; sons-in-law Erkle Rodrigue and James Wilde; daughters-in-law Ruth B. and Lois P. Legendre; one granddaughter, Bridget L. Darlington; one great-granddaughter, Beth Anne Rodrigue and brother, Clarence “Toot” Peltier. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, a homemaker and worked at Maison Blanche.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 146 4th Street (at Avenue A) in Westwego on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
