Vernon Kinchen

March 7, 1925 — September 29, 2011

Vernon Lee “ Boe” Kinchen, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Adele Collins Kinchen. Son of the late Hazel Jenkins and Vernon Kinchen, Sr. Step son of the late Ethel Kinchen. Father of Sharon Cemo (Husband Princeton) and Randy Kinchen (Wife Justine). Grandfather of Dawn Dufrene, Corey Cemo, Beth Tabor, Bridget McCulloch, William Tierney,Jr., April Ruth, Matthew Tierney, Randall Kinchen, Jr. Paris Cooper and the late Princeton Cemo, Jr. Also survived by 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Brother of Virginia, Diane, W.D., Russell, Donnie and the late N.F., Vernie, Leander, Urban, Lillie and Norman. Vernon was born in Springfield, LA and he resided in Marrero, LA for the past 47 years. He was employed at Armco Steel and owner of B.G.&W. Repair and Specialty. He was a member of VFW Post #06793, American Legion #0401, Elks Westbank #2496, The Boston Club West, Fun & Frolic Softball Club and Over 40 Baseball League. Vernon served as Seaman First Class in the Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Griswold D.E.7 and received the American Area Ribbon & Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon (4 stars). Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 6PM until 10PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday morning from 8AM until 11AM. Funeral Services will take place at the funeral home on Monday at 11AM.
