Vernon Nicoel Lightell
November 18, 1934 — June 27, 2016
Vernon Nicoel "Cowboy" Lightell answered the Master's Call on June 27, 2016. He concluded his earthly journey in peace at the age of 81.
Vernon was born November 18, 1934 to the union of the late Abraham and Amilia Treadaway Lightell. He was preceded in death by his brother Paul Lucien Lightell, and his sisters Anna Mae and Naomi Lightell. He is survived by his brother Herman Lightell, Sr. (Daisy) and his sister Emelda Lightell Smith. Although Vernon didn't have any children of his own, he was lovingly taken care of by his nephew, Rackel Lightell. He leaves his nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly to cherish his memories.
Relatives and Friends of the Family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Port Sulphur Baptist Church, 27080 Hwy 23, Port Sulphur, LA on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 11 AM. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Port Sulphur, LA. Visitation will be at church from 9:30 AM until 11 AM. Mothe Funeral Homes handled arrangements.
