Vernon Cyril Parker

Vernon Cyril Parker, age 88 passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013. Husband of the late Joyce Juliet Krider Parker. Son of the late Martha Burmaster and Frederick J. Parker. Father of Brenda Parker Vallance and Wanda Parker Miller, son-in-laws Paul Vallance and Cyrus Miller. Grandfather to Coreen Vallance Knox (Jeff), Kelly Vallance Bradley (Mike), Shannon Vallance Griffo (Joseph) and Brandon Parker Regan. Great Grandfather to Brayden and Rowan Knox, Molly and Penelope Bradley, Emerson Griffo, and Andrew Parker and Sarah Regan.
Brother of Winifred Musacchia and the late Helen Hill, Mildred Roppolo, Ethel Porche, Edith Penington, Myrtle, Leah, Alfred, William, Lynn, Richard and John. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
A native of Algiers, long-time resident of Harvey, recently living in Prairieville, Vernon was a proud Navy veteran of World War II. A machinist all his life, Vernon was a talented artist who loved his dog, “Beau”, nature, and bringing things to life. His love of art shone in his heart, his mind and his hands: “Always dream in color”.
