She was the loving wife of 26 Blessed years to John David Gill. Daughter of Bessie Hingle and the late August Dennis. Step-daughter of the late Vicnel Hingle. Sister of Rae Ann Tucker (the late Boyd Tucker), Victor T. Dennis (Margaret), Kevin S. Dennis (Denise) and Sandy R. Dennis (Christy). Godmother to Lacey Ann Bartholomew. Special aunt to Christina, Erica, Victor T. II, Joseph, Isabella and Justice. Special Nan to Kaden Kross. Great-aunt to Easton and Paisley. Sister-in-law of Ann Wetzel, James B. Sharon (Robert), Roger J. (Cindy) and Emma Cox (Tom). Step-daughter of Susan K. Gill. Step-sister-in-law of Ronald E., Donald R. and Krisstinna M. Special friend to Edward “Crown Point” Dormain and a host of other loving family members and friends.
Vilda worked for over 10 years at Marrero Christian Academy and was a special assistant to Carol Dormain-Frickey with the V.F.W. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the medical staff and the great nursing staff of University Medical Center.
She was a gift from God and she had a heart and smile that would light up any room. She had a heart of gold and she shared with everyone she met. Now that she has gone home, she will be sadly missed but her life will always be celebrated.
Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend the Memorial Celebration at Waggaman Baptist Church, 401 Azalea Drive in Waggaman on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11 AM.
