Vinton J. Dore’ joined the Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the age of 87. He was born in New Iberia, LA to the late Ovey Dore’ and the late Marie Segura Dore’. Vinton was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Council 1905 in Gretna, LA. He was a past member of the Krewe of Endymion and a former thoroughbred owner. Vinton was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years Earldine Duhon Dore’ and his brother Dalton Dore’. He is survived by his daughter Rebecca Fulton, son-in-law Robert Fulton, Sr., his son B. J. Dore’ and his daughter-in-law Peggy Dodd Dore’. He also leaves behind his only grandchild Robert Fulton, Jr. Vinton was blessed to have had a very loving and devoted friend in Delores Rowbatham. Vinton was a devout Catholic and a dedicated and loving family man. He loved to live and he lived his way, all the way! The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the Staff, Nurses, and CNA’s of Wynhoven Healthcare Center for their genuine care, respect, and love shown to Vinton during his 18 months there. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6th Street, Gretna, LA on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 1:15PM. Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA. Parlors will be open at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 6PM to 8PM and again on Wednesday from 8AM to 12:45PM.
