Virgil Leo Rodriguez

Virgil Leo Rodriguez passed away into the loving arms of our Father in Heaven on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the age of 81. There, he will meet his loving wife, Nathalie Richard Rodriguez; his parents, Theresa and Joseph Rodriguez; and his brother, Forrest Rodriguez. His surviving family members include his two sisters, Clare Rodriguez and Helen Carpenter of Gretna, LA. He will be truly missed by his children, Rhonda Guthrie and husband Greg Guthrie of Marrero; Cindy Hoerner and husband Merlin Hoerner of Lucedale, MS; Nancy Hamilton and husband Vince Hamilton of Lucedale, MS; and Joey Rodriguez and wife Renee’ Rodriguez of Houma, LA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brent Guthrie and wife Michelle; Brad Guthrie; Daniel Hoerner and wife Mallory; Chad Hoerner; Cody Hamilton, Ryan Hamilton, Jessica Hamilton; Rachel Rodriguez and Tristan Rodriguez; and his Great Grandchildren, Allie Guthrie and Eloise Guthrie; Bently Hoerner and Dakota Soignet. Virgil was born in Gretna, LA and resided in Algiers for 50 years. The family wishes to thank the Staff of Ochsner West Bank Hospital, West Jeff Physical Therapy Unit and Waldenburg Skilled Nursing facility for their care of our dad. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 11:30AM until 1PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1PM. Interment will be in McDonoghville Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
