Walter Danner

Walter Danner, known for his dedicated service to the Orleans Archdiocese Schools, passed away on July 24, 2024 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. Born November 16, 1939, in Westwego, LA, Walter made a lasting impact through his multifaceted career.

Having donned various roles over the years, Walter as a cherished figure within the educational realm. His tenure as a school teacher, music director, and coach reflected his passion for nurturing young minds and fostering talent. Before his stint at the Archdiocese, he contributed significantly to the Jefferson Parish School Board.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Walter found joy in diverse interests. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid supporter of both the New Orleans Saints and LSU football teams. A notable accomplishment that brought him pride was his active involvement in the Westside Bowling Lanes league in Marrero, LA.

Walter was preceded in death by his father Harold Danner, mother Alberta Taylor Danner, and sister Alberta Harney. He is survived by his dear friends and neighbors Rudy Gautreaux and Marvin Brown Jr.

The visitation and prayer service to honor Walter Danner will take place on July 31, 2024, at Marrero - Mothe Funeral Homes, LLC. The visitation is scheduled from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM followed by the prayer service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
