Walter Hulen Smith Jr.

Walter H. Smith, Jr. passed away in Georgia on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of the late Jo Ann Koch Smith. Son of the late Walter Hulen Smith, Sr. and Eula Mae Smith. Father of Dinah Gerone, Peggy Dutzy (Michael) and Rick Smith. Grandfather of Danielle Dutzy Joyner, Michael Dutzy, Matthew Gerone, Gary Gerone, Ilana Smith and Kayla Smith. Great grandfather of Noel Gerone and Aaron Joyner. Brother of Katherine O’Brien. Walter was born in Beaumont, Texas; raised in Gulfport, MS and lived in Gulfport, MS, Pascagoula, MS and New Orleans, LA. He served in the United States Army from 1951-1953. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of New Orleans. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Vallette Street, Algiers, LA on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from 11AM until 1PM. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1PM. Interment will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Gretna, LA.
