Wayne Patrick Vicknair

Wayne P. Vicknair, age 62, was called to be with his Heavenly Father, on July 31, 2015. Wayne was a native of Algiers and longtime resident of Gretna. After his service in the Air Force, he devoted 30 years of service to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Wayne was a big kid at heart and brought laughter, love & faith to anyone he ever met. He beamed with joy & happiness even in his most trying times. He loved with no abandon and never met a stranger. His faith in God & love of family were unshakable. He is survived by his soulmate & wife, Patricia S. Vicknair. He is the beloved father of Kathleen & Colleen Vicknair; adored Grandpappy of Daphne Hayes; and cherished brother of Robert Vicknair, the late Kenneth Vicknair, the late Kevin Vicknair, Gregory Vicknair & Michael Vicknair. Beloved son of the late Earl J. Vicknair and Mary Grace Vicknair. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & dear friends. Wayne was a grateful friend of Bill W. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy., Harvey, LA on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11am. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, August 5, 2015 from 6 until 8pm and on Thursday morning from 8am until 11am.
