W.F. George, Jr., 75, a native of Lufkin, Texas and resident of Hahnville passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at his home. Mr. George was preceeded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Sapia George, his mother, Lurley Bailey, his grandfather, George A. Baldwin (Dad), and sister, Jamie Lou Buckner. He was the beloved father of Candis (Irvin) Patecek of Luling, Randal (Teresa) George of Mangham, Deborah Dampier of Belle Chasse, and Wanda (Dennis) Berry of Luling and legal guardian of Chelsa Fales of Des Allemands. He is survived by 9 grandchildren, Eric Zammit, Jr., Jamie L Zammit, Derek (Stacy) Dampier, Blake (Kali) Zammit, Justin George, Randi-Lynn (Lee) Hendricks, Christopher Berry, Drew Dampier, and Steven Berry, 2 great-grandchildren, Emma Zammit and Reid Dampier, and 2 step-great grandchildren, Norman and Julien Adams. Mr. George is survived by two sisters, Rosemary Cox of Mexia, Texas and Geneva Wade of Groesbeck, Texas. W.F. attended school and college in Lufkin. He served for 4 years in the US Air Force. He married Ruth Sapia in April of 1960. W.F. and Ruth lived most of their married lives in Hahnville while working for LP&L until his retirement in 1991. He was known as Mr. LP&L because anyone who had problems with their lights called upon W.F. for help. He started the G&J Cattle Company and raised cattle for many years. He volunteered as a softball coach for the West St. Charles and G&J Girls teams. He volunteered for the American Red Cross and supported his wife with other volunteer programs including supporting Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He loved to be around people and people loved to be around him. He was a stranger to no one, and looked for opportunities to help others in need. Relatives and Friends are invited to join in celebrating his life with visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 7040 Lapalco Boulevard, Marrero, LA on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 6 PM to 9 PM. Visitation will resume at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hahnville, LA on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 8:30 AM to 11 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow. Interment will take place at St. Charles Cemetery on Paul Mallard Road in Luling. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in his memory to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, #1 Rectory Lane, Hahnville, LA 70057.
