Wheldon Jude Boyd Sr.

Wheldon Jude Boyd, Sr. of Belle Chasse, LA passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the age of 76 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Patsy Hoyt Boyd. Father of Wheldon J. Boyd, Jr. (Angel), Wayne P. Boyd (Sharon), Elizabeth B. Lagasse (Donald). Son of the late Eulah Donner Boyd and Jewell Clifton Boyd. Brother of E’Telca Crawford and the late Jewell Booth. Grandfather of the “7-UP Kids” Morgan, Garrett, Marissa, Sabrina, Rachel, Jessica and Ethan. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. A native of Algiers, LA and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA for the past 50 years. He was retired after 42 years of service from the La. Air National Guard 159th as Chief Master Sergeant. Wheldon enjoyed fishing and going on vacations with his wife and family.
Relatives and friends of the family, also members of the La. Air National Guard 159th, the Retiree Association and the Belle Chasse AARP are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 8968 Hwy 23, Belle Chasse, LA on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 11:30 am. Visitation at the church from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time. Interment to follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Children's Tumor Foundation @ www.ctf.org in honor of his granddaughter, Rachel Boyd.
